Lauderdale Olympic Class Regatta a big success

Nic-Muller-and-Kai-FrieseckeNic Muller and Kai Friesecke
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The inaugural Lauderdale Olympic Classes Regatta was held last weekend. The event grew out of the annual Finn Midwinter and Women's Laser Radial North Americans that Lauderdale Yacht Club has hosted since 1982. This year, Men's Laser full rigs, I-420s and 29ers were added to the mix along with the inclusion of men in the Laser Radial class. The idea was to make this regatta an easy follow on to the ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami. Over 60 boats took part this year and they were treated to three days of outstanding conditions and racing in the ocean just south of the Port Everglades inlet. Entrants came from all over the world with nine countries represented in the fleet.

Valentine's Day is a Good Reminder to Love the Earth with Recycling and Reduction

Greeting cards, the most obvious Valentine's Day symbol, contribute to a big spike in annual waste production. Approximately  180 million Americans exchanged Valentine's Day cardsin one year alone, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. This makes the holiday a great opportunity for both showing affection and recycling. That's why Waste Management urges its customers to consider alternatives to conventional gifts and to find something that not only express the spirit of the holiday, but also supports the EPA's  "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" goal.

The Housing Crisis and Homeowner Risks

Homeowner-RisksThe housing crisis has created the potential for a great deal of homeowner risk. Real Estate agents cannot provide legal advice and a title company does not and cannot represent any party on any legal issues that may arise throughout the closing process. The bottom line is that without an attorney, there is no one representing the legal interests of the buyer or seller. The reality is that laws change. All banks have experienced attorneys representing their interests. Homeowners and investors need to protect their personal interests. Here are some important reasons why a seller or buyer should hire an experienced real estate attorney to negotiate their purchase or sale of property:
