Humor! Cambridge University is looking for a ‘Chocolate Lover’



We've always known the British adore their sweets. Look at their dental
records. The British love of chocolate has a long and storied history
going back to the obvious similarities between the Stonehenge monuments
and the popular Cadbury's Dairy Milk® chocolate bar. The outer wrappers
have long since been weathered away but when the sun rises during the
summer solstice you can discern part of the ingredients label and some
bits of foil.

The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Kicks off the New Fall Season

The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center begins its new season with dance and the very best in family theater.

The
Developing Dreams Foundation presents The Choreographers Ball on
Saturday, October 11 at 7 p.m. Filled with riveting entertainment, the
annual dance showcase features some of South Florida's hottest
choreographers, dancers and arts companies performing various forms of
modern dance, contemporary ballet and more. Tickets are $25, $35, $50.
Free lap seats are available only at the box office for infants 12
months and under.

United Way of Broward County’s Mission United Awarded $25,000 Grant from the Veterans Trust

United Way of Broward County announced today that it has been awarded
a $25,000 grant from The Veterans Trust  to be used  for the
replication and expansion of its MISSION UNITED business model to other
counties throughout Florida.  MISSION UNITED is a critical program
supporting US military service members, veterans and their families in
Broward County by helping them re-acclimate to civilian life. Key focus
areas include employment, education, health, legal assistance, emergency
financial aid, and housing.

BrightStar Credit Union Hosts Free Open House for Teachers at YAA

Calling all teachers! BrightStar Credit Union will host Teacher Open
House @ YAA on Friday, September 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Young At Art
Museum, 751 SW 121 Avenue in Davie. Free for teachers, with valid
teacher ID, and their families, the open house is being held just in
time to celebrate the new school year.  There will be tours of the
Museum and educators will have the opportunity to learn about all that
YAA has to offer, including programs, school field trips and more.
